Jamia Milia Protests: Serendipity Actor John Cusack Supports The Students; Shares A ‘Solidarity’ Video – Watch
After Anurag Kashyap spoke about the Jamia Milia Protests, 2012 actor John Cusack took to his social media handle and extended his support to the students by sharing a video of the aftermath with caption ‘solidarity’
As the Government gives a green signal to Citizenship Amendment Bill, the nation stays divided into its pros and cons. Though some are accepting this new change, there are many who are taking this in their stride. After the bill was passed by the president of India, Ram Nath Kovind, a protest was organized by the students of Jamia Milia Islamia which later turned violent. While students damaged public property, police pulled a violent act against the students. A lot of people took to their social media handles and slammed the Delhi Police for their behaviour. Even Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap took to his Twitter handle and shared his intolerance over this matter and called the government ‘fascist.’ Now, a Hollywood actor, has extended his support to the students through his Twitter handle. He is none other than John Cusack.
The 2012 actor shared a video on his handle and wrote ‘solidarity.’ In the video, a boy is showing us how students have been hurt and the hostels have been destroyed. He also narrates the story of what had happened during the event where a man is severely hurt in the corner, on the side of the room, a man is lying on the floor unconscious. On the other side, Kashyap who returned to Twitter for expressing his rage, he tweeted, “This has gone too far.. can’t stay silent any longer. This government is clearly fascist.. and it makes me angry to see voices that can actually make a difference stay quiet.”

Further, Akshay Kumar was recently mocked for liking a video where the Jamia students are attacked. Seeing his like on the video, Twitterati slammed him for the same. Since the damage was done already, Akki clarified it and said that it happened by ‘mistake’ and that he in no way "supports such acts."
